TheJackProject.org – Mental Health First Aid Canada – Youth Course

The Jack Project will combat the massive stigma associated with mental illness and improve the services for young people struggling with anxiety, depression and thoughts of suicide. This will be accomplished through two primary activities: (1) A Mental Health awareness campaign targeting 300 high schools and 30 colleges/universities within 24 months, using Mental Health First Aid Training (from the Mental Health Commission of Canada) to educate staff and students at schools about mental health issues. How to recognize the signs and symptoms of suffering and how to provide help. (2) The rapid launch of a cutting edge microsite for emerging adults. The site will interact with youth on their terms and how they communicate today (mobile app, live chat and instant messaging). All backed by professional Kids Help Phone counsellors.

@Elewyn Hello. Please find someone you trust and talk to them about how you’re feeling. If there is no one you trust or feel you can talk to, I suggest call the local crisis line in your area. In Canada for youth aged 5-20 it is Kids Help Phone.

If that’s true please contact me. I have nowhere left to turn to.
